Disposing of Bulky Items

Have you considered selling your old table, sofa, chair, TV, etc?
Friday Ads offer great value advertising to find a local buyer, or you could list it at Ebay Click here to buy & sell on eBay!

If you need the space quickly and are happy to give your items away for free then have you considered using the FreeCycle network? Give your unwanted goods to someone who wants them - rather than sending them to the landfill!
This puts people who have surplus items in touch with people who want them and will collect them quickly for free. We have given several bulky items to good new homes this way - keeping them out of landfill in the process! They are always collected quickly, generally within the day, as this is a very active network.

If the items are broken and you are sure that no-one else can make good use of them (even for spares?) then the council will collect them and dispose of them for you, for a fee (so you'd be better off giving them away through FreeCycle!). Click here for details of the Council's Bulky Item Collection Service and Fees.
